Bring with you

- Notes from the last few weeks: hot flashes and night sweats, sleep, mood, and anything new
- Dates of any bleeding or spotting
- Any side effects, and when they began
- Your history of blood clots, stroke or breast cancer, including in close family
- When your last mammogram was
Questions you could ask
- Are my symptoms improving as expected?
- Is my bleeding pattern expected for my type of HRT?
- Would a different form of HRT (patch, gel, spray or tablet) suit me better?
- Do I have risk factors that affect which HRT is right for me?
- Do I still need contraception?
- Could vaginal estrogen help with vaginal symptoms?
- When should we review my treatment again?
Contact your doctor sooner if
- You have any vaginal bleeding after 12 months or more without a period
- Irregular bleeding continues more than 6 months after starting HRT, or bleeding gets heavier
- Side effects are severe, or last longer than 3 months
